Bikes ‘n’ Coffee Season Opener 2025

What a weekend! Had a nosey around the Bikes n Coffee YVR 2025 Season Opener at Trev Deeley Motorcycles and almost found a moto my size. But only almost… This being my first Bikes n Coffee event, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was definitely gonna be good fun.

Camaraderie among Bikers

A concert of humming engines and noisy pipes announced the comings and goings of different riders from all walks of the moto world: sports bikes, custom retro café racers, stunning beauties from yesteryear, the odd adventure machine, a beautiful sidecar, and lots of Harleys of course.

And the differences didn’t matter one bit. That’s what I love about the moto crowd: it doesn’t matter what you ride. As long as you’re on two (or even three) wheels, you belong, you’re part of the worldwide comradery. There were lots of hearty handshakes, hugs and friendly slaps on leather and Gore-Tex clad shoulders. Smiles, chats about everything bikes and an excited buzz – with bright sunshine it sure felt like the season had finally started.

Lots to Inform and Entertain

Of course there were a bunch of vendors, from Rock Straps Canada and Lone Wolf Motorcycle Towing to Spooky!, a totally rad person who custom paints motorcycles.

Harley had one of their bikes tethered on a roller stand, so curious cats could open the throttle and try it out for size and feel. You should have seen their faces light up as the pipes roared and the engine started vibrating, as only Harley engines do!

Spontaneous souls were getting their next tattoos done and a DJ was pumping out tunes to tap your feet to as you’re chatting about all thing moto, and of course there was plenty of coffee, tacos and chicken skewers to keep everyone fueled up. Oh, and there was even bubble tea to be had, as a sweet little girl let us know while browsing the Harley T-shirts on sale.

New season, new ride!

The show room was never empty, with riders climbing aboard the latest models and checking out the gleaming chrome beauties. I even spied someone in the finance office signing documents, presumably getting set for the season. Congratulations on your new ride!

Start ‘em young!

And the next generation of riders was flying through the crowd, braaping about on small bikes already highly skilled at leaning into corners and standing up on the pegs!

rider generations

I’m just a tad jealous. They were kind enough to let me try their rides for size, but even the smallest one was still too big for me… Still couldn’t reach the pegs, or handlebars for that matter… Dang it! Oh well, I’ll be riding on Maria’s tank for the season it seems. Not that being chauffeured around is all that bad…
